Looking to turn things around after a 0-3 start to their season and a 63-19 loss to Lovejoy in the opening game of District 4-5A Division II play, the football team (0-3, 0-1) travels to Melissa to face the Cardinals (1-1, 1-0) Friday at 7:00 p.m.
“To prepare for the game at Melissa, we are focusing on cleaning up our errors and building our strengths,” head coach Chip Gregory said. “Overall, I’m confident that with proper preparation and execution, anything is possible. We always have an opportunity; it is about what we do as a team that decides the outcome of the game.”
Senior offensive lineman Ryan Miller is confident that the team will be in high spirits throughout the game, no matter the results.
“Team comradery matters the most,” Miller said. “Whether it could be a short catch or a big touchdown run, good team comradery will lift the team’s spirits and lighten the environment.”
