11 singing Redhawks are seeking to hit a higher note as they prepare for All-State auditions.
For the 11 choir students awaiting their All-Region placement, the next step is on Oct. 18 followed by a round in which the students must prepare an additional three choral pieces.
For junior Kyron France, the preparation for the coming rounds of auditions boils down to practice.
“For the upcoming choir auditions, I’m making sure to listen to the music, learn it, sing it through a couple of times, and just make sure I really know it,” France said.
Anticipating a more competitive round of auditions, choir director Janson Guillen has also been working to maximize practice opportunities to prepare students for auditions.
“We have some students come in for morning lessons,” Guillen said. “So we’re trying to get as many opportunities in the day as possible to be able to practice the music.”
