Students in Digital Modeling and Animation are starting their first project on Photoshop: creating an album cover.
“They’re really good use because we’re using layers and things like that so [a] lot of programs use layer or their video editing or desktop publishing or even music so layers [are] really cool to learn in that kind of approach,” teacher Demas Lamas said. “They’re kind of putting out their skills together, so I wouldn’t say that [it’s] easier or harder. I would say that the students [are rising] to the challenge and [meeting] the difficulty level and that’s what we like cause that’s [kinda how] growth happens.”
Some students, like freshman Akshaya Garimella, followed the YouTube video instructions provided by Lamas.
“I think it’s hard cause this is my first time doing photoshop and animation and everything, so yeah it might not be that easy for me to follow along,” Garimella said. “I think I need to follow the tutorial provided and then make it like personalized, so it’s good to follow along.”
