Pop duo Crash Adams only just tried out for America’s Got Talent this year, but this duo isn’t new to the music industry. Childhood friends Rafaele “Crash” Massarelli and Vince “Adams” Sasso grew up surrounded by music, and their recent performance on AGT is only a small glimpse into their intriguing online performances.
Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Massarelli was introduced to the process of creating music through his uncle’s recording studio, while Sasso started playing guitar at the age of 11. While Sasso temporarily veered into interests other than music, Massarelli reached out to him and the duo began officially producing music together; releasing their first single “Astronauts” in 2019.
As of this year, Crash Adams has introduced their debut album – Crashing Into Your Living Room, Vol. 2 – which served as a sequel to their previous EP Crashing Into Your Living Room, Vol. 1. Aside from the album, they also have released a bunch of singles, but these aren’t just any singles. Each single was featured in a short online video that the pop duo posted on Youtube and TikTok, often featuring involvement from random street participants and Crash Adams’ iconic red couch (which can be seen on all of their album covers).
These mini music videos, which sometimes feature guest musical contributors, have garnered over 12 million followers for the duo on Youtube alone. Their upbeat, energetic performances are the perfect representation of their music and is part of what makes this pop duo so engaging. Their music is energetic and infectious, lacing pop and retro synth influences to create songs that are snappy and leave you feeling good. While AGT is definitely a big deal, Crash Adams plans to use this as a stepping off point to continue to bring the good vibes to people all over.
