Having already matched their win total from last season, the football team (1-7, 1-5) now looks to double that number when they play Memorial (2-5, 1-4) at the Ford Center Friday.
Originally scheduled for 7:00 p.m., kickoff has been moved up to 4:30 p.m. due to the potential for severe weather which led Frisco ISD to move the Wakeland v. Frisco game slated to be played outside at Kuykendall to the Ford Center Friday at 8 p.m. in a rare regular season doubleheader.
“It’s still football,” assistant coach Andre Brown said. “It’s a change for everybody, it’s a change but I don’t think it will effect us too much.”
If the Redhawks are victorious against the Warriors for the second consecutive time on what just so happens to be their whiteout senior night, they would have their first season with multiple wins since going 10-2 in 2021.
All that places a lot of pressure on the team, but sophomore, wide receiver and defensive back Myles McClain said they are going to tune it out and focus on having a solid game.
“We’re just going to go out there and block out all the noise,” McClain said. “We’ll just play for us, play for all of the seniors and work with any opportunities Memorial gives us to exploit them.”
