The basketball season is officially underway, and both the boys and girls teams are getting things going Wednesday in the gym with Midnight Madness from 6 to 8 p.m.
Midnight Madness is a performance packed event featuring Red Rhythm, cheer, and basketball contests and skill activities.
But while the focus is on basketball, there’s going to be more as it’s being extended to more of a whole school celebration.
“Midnight madness will be different this year because we are including different sports such as swim dive and track that will be kicking off,” boys head basketball coach Bruce Wright. “Football will also be able to attend because it will be held on a Wednesday.”
With no football game this week, Red Rhythm assistant director Sydney Mooty is preparing the dance team to perform at the event with a hip hop routine.
“So Red Rhythm is super excited to support basketball this season,” Mooty said. “And we will be performing a hip hop routine just to get the crowd super excited and just show our love and support for an amazing basketball season.”
