The swim and dive team competed in a meet on Tuesday against Independence and Eaton at the FISD Natatorium. The boys team won overall with the girls team beating Independence, and losing by one point to Eaton.
“The meet went really well,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “It was our last meet before our mid-season region preview meet that the kids have been working on getting qualifying times for. This year we have 17 swimmers and 2 divers that have qualified in either 1 or more individual races and a few earned those qualifying times last night.”
For junior Aisha Thapa, even tiny changes can lead to big improvements.
“[I wanted to] drop time in my 50 free and 100 free,” Thapa said. I’ve been aiming for AA time in the 50 and I got it. I also managed to get the time I wanted in my 100 free as well. Some changes I made [to achieve these goals] were just around my technique and mindset.”
