Wingspan: How long have you been playing and what got you started?
Stephens: “I’ve been playing basketball since I was six years old. And growing up watching my dad hoop got me started.”
Wingspan: What is your biggest takeaway from high school basketball?
Stephens: “One takeaway from high school ball is having mental toughness discipline.”
Wingspan: What are you most excited about this season?
Stephens: “I’m excited that our team is coming back, from last year and us adding a few new pieces, we are going to be way better.”
Wingspan: What does your practice routine look like?
Stephens: “Everyone will split gyms, we have in the aux gym jump roping, and free throw stations in that gym, then in the main gym there is a dribble pull up station, this is for us to warm our body up.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Stephens: “My dad is my biggest supporter, he has been helping me since I picked the ball up. He always made sure he could give me the information that he knew to make good at basketball.”
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about basketball?
Stephens: “First thing is playing defense and getting buckets.”
Wingspan: Do you plan to continue your basketball career after high school?
Stephens: “Yes I do, I would know something later after the season.”
Wingspan: How do you stay in a good mindset after a rough game?
Stephens: “Just keeping my head up, and praying.”
