The girls’ basketball team (4-11) faced Frisco (5-10) on the road Friday, losing 44-37.
“We were defensively sound for the first half, and then we kind of fell apart in the fourth quarter,” head coach Mykaela Alfred said. “But their execution of plays was really good. We had to draw some quick plays that they’ve never seen before and they executed that pretty well. We just couldn’t knock down shots.”
For freshman Lauren Bullitt, coming back from missed shots made the game difficult.
“One challenge I personally faced at the last game was having the motivation to rebound shots we missed,” Bullitt said.
Motivated by losing to the Raccoons by seven points, the team hopes to close that gap when they host Lebanon Trail (3-11) at The Nest Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
“A strength that I hope to show [at the game against Lebanon Trail] is the ability to stay poised against pressure,” Alfred said. “Also taking score opportunities and knocking down those shots and continuing to execute the offence.”
According to Bullitt, staying together as a team is key to winning the upcoming game
“Like always, we need to stay together and play hard and not give up,” Bullitt said. “Because if we do we’re going to lose.”
