The holiday season signifies a time of happiness for many.
Sparkling snowflakes.
Fresh-baked gingerbread.
Festive decorations.
But for the Red Rhythm Dance Team, it includes preparing for Winter Extravaganza.
“Red Rhythm has been rehearsing for Winter Extravaganza along with preparing for their contest season,” Assistant Director Sydney Mooty said. “We have lots of commitments this season along with Winter Extravaganza and they have been working so hard to time manage and we are so proud of them.”
Compared to the team’s numerous performances throughout the year, the Winter Extravaganza will see Red Rhythm do a holiday prop routine that will also be a collaboration with elementary school students and the Redhawks orchestra.
“This show is different from our football, contest, or spring show season because it showcases all fine arts groups,” Mooty said. “It is a beautiful way to represent all fine arts on campus and collaborate with peers.”
The hope, with all the work being put into this show, is to spread joy for the season.
“We expect to bring holiday cheer to the families through our performances,” Nothe said. “We are looking forward to collaborating with the fine arts groups & putting on a wonderful show for the Redhawk community.”
Preparation for this collaboration has involved a new kind of planning.
“The directors have had meetings to collaborate and plan with the fine arts groups,” Mooty said. “It is so exciting to work together and showcase the talents of all fine arts groups on campus.”
