Despite this gap, the girls team placed second, and for the first time, the boys placed first, securing the first place spot for the overall team.
According to junior Samantha Njau, the team had to train hard prior to the meet to be able to secure the winning spot.
“We had winter break in the middle, so getting back on pace was hard since we had to keep our training pretty hardcore,” Njau said. “But we managed to win overall, so it definitely worked out.”
