Mixed results continued to the name of the game for soccer as the Redhawks (10-0-3, 2-0-1 boys; 1-7, 0-3 girls) battled district rivals Centennial (8-3-1, 1-1-1 boys; 5-2-4, 2-0-1 girls) Friday. The boys won 2-1 on the road, while on the girls side, the Titans shut out the Redhawks at The Nest 2-0.
Assistant boys’ soccer coach Kyle Parks attributes his team’s continued success to its all-around depth.
“Usually older players are faster, stronger, and more skilled so that always helps,” Parks said. “But we have very skilled players at every age that contribute.”
As one of those athletes, senior Brandon Braeuninger is doing what he can to help the team.
“I create goal scoring opportunities for the team or get a goal myself,” Braeuninger said. “If we keep this up I’m confident that we can win state.”
