Tuesday’s boys basketball game against Independence (11-16, 2-8) was significant for several reasons.
Number one, the Redhawks (16-11, 7-3) won 61-30 at The Nest to get back on track following a 61-50 road loss to Heritage (24-2, 10-0) Friday.
Number two, it was senior night, allowing the team’s eight seniors to be recognized for their contributions to the team during their time as Redhawks.
And number three, it moved the team – currently tied behind the Coyotes with Memorial (22-7, 7-3 for second place in district play – one win closer to clinching a spot in the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
“We’re glad the guys were able to pull out the win,” head coach Bruce Wright said. “We also had a great time celebrating our seniors.”
