With the win against Independence (12-13, 4-8) behind them, the girls basketball team (11-18, 6-6) will travel to play Memorial (22-9, 11-1) Friday at 5:45 p.m.
“Memorial is a lot taller, a lot stronger, and they’re quicker,” head coach Mykaela Alfred said. “So with them, it’s going to be more strategic about where we pass the ball and just understanding that we might not score against pressure and instead run offense over and over again.”
According to junior Danivea Hughes, playing intensely is important when facing a strong team like Memorial.
“Last time and this time we need to play them intensely instead of laying down.” Hughes said. “So definitely keep on fighting.”
