Redhawks boys’ soccer (11-1-4, 3-1-2, #34 in Texas) fell victim to Memorial (7-5-3, 3-2-1), losing 3-2 at The Nest Tuesday, snapping their fifteen-game undefeated streak.
Junior outside midfielder Pierce McCord and senior right wing Nathan Braueninger scored goals, with seniors, defender Alp Sahin and midfielder Brandon Braueninger providing assists.
Meanwhile, the girls (2-9-1, 1-4-1) extended their undefeated streak to two games by tying a road game against the Warriors (3-7-2, 1-2-2).
“We lost some of the 50/50 balls and didn’t defend as well as we should have,” head boys’ soccer coach Evan McGee said. “We also could have taken more chances.”
For girls’ head coach Kyle Beggs, it’s almost the opposite story.
“We held on to the ball very well, we defended very well,” Beggs said. “Preventing them from scoring always gives you a chance to win the game. We had our chances and we just we’ve found some stuff that we need to work on.”
