Students in Spanish 3 recently took their learning beyond the textbook with an interview project, where they were asked and had to answer interview questions completely in Spanish.
According to Spanish teacher Ashley Taquino, the project helps students develop important life skills.
“This is obviously an important life skill, even though people probably won’t be interviewed in Spanish, they are definitely going to be interviewed for something or several things in their future,” Taquino said. “And so this is really providing them with the skills necessary to have positive and impactful interviews in their future.”
The project focused on real-life communication, helping students improve their speaking skills, listening comprehension, and confidence.
Freshman Armaan Shaikh said the experience helps prepare students for future opportunities while encouraging collaboration.
“I really like the whole concept of us just getting ready for uh future like paths and careers,” Shaikh said. “It helps me build upon what I want to do in the future, and it also makes me work with my peers, which is really helpful.”
