Currently sitting on a three-game winning streak, the boys’ basketball team (19-12, 10-4) is advancing to the playoffs for the fourth time in five seasons. In the first round, they will face The Colony (22-11, 10-4) at Plano West High School Tuesday at 7 p.m.
“We just have to stand in front of their players,” junior guard Ian Williams said. “To guard them really well so they can’t get to their shot.”
Head coach Bruce Wright details what he believes to be the teams’ common mentality heading into playoffs.
“Our mentality doesn’t change too much besides upping the intensity and pressure each game,” Wright said. “We just need to focus on how we play against a very tough team. They play hard, and we have to expect that they’ll be even tougher since it’s playoffs and everyone is playing to survive.”
