Split results were the name of the game for soccer against Lebanon Trail Tuesday. The boys (6-1-2, #19 in state) won 2-0 on the road to sweep the “Donkey Derby”, and the girls (1-6-2) fell to the Blazers 1-0 at The Nest.
Despite the girls’ loss, sophomore attacking midfielder McKenzie Gore believes it was a beneficial experience for the team.
“Even though this was a loss, the game itself helped me escape chaos and clear my mind,” Gore said. “I could only focus on getting better.”
Senior attacking midfielder Brandon Braueninger, a Texas A&M-Texarkana signee, was responsible for both Redhawk goals with confidence being key according to assistant coach Kyle Parks.
“We have been playing a lot better because our defense has been doing really well lately,” Parks said. “We didn’t concede any goals this game, and that has really helped with our confidence.”
