The track and field team faces 23 other teams at the Private Invitational meet at Wylie on Saturday at 8:00 a.m..
Junior Chelsea Ross hopes to set a strong early-season time at this meet.
“This meet is definitely one of our more competitive meets considering the number of schools attending and the great athletes at all of them, so for me I’ll have to push myself to perform the best I can,” Ross said. “It’s early in the season so I’m hoping I can run a good time as a baseline and then grow off of that throughout the season.”
Ross adds what kind of mindset from everyone can help the team’s success.
“I think the team should have a positive mindset because these meets can be really long and tiring and we’ll have to encourage each other throughout the day in order to succeed.”
