Both soccer teams lost to Heritage Tuesday with the girls (1-8-2) losing 1-0 to the Coyotes (9-1-1) at The Nest.
“Heritage is a very good team,” girls’ head coach Kyle Beggs. “I told the girls that they were one of the best teams that we faced all year. So it was really good for us to face an opponent like that. Know where we want to be, and kind of see where we are now, and say this is what we’ve got to get to compete in district.”
On the boys side, the Redhawks (7-2-2) fell 3-2 to the Coyotes (9-2) at Heritage.
Senior striker/midfielder Joey Medieceja, a St. Mary’s University signee, said that mindset played a role in the team’s loss.
“We were just not in the right headspace,” Medieceja said. “We underestimated their strength because we beat them last time.”
