Theater’s productions varsity students have been working on producing The Three Musketeers for their UIL One Act Play competition show.
Their free public performance is tonight in the auditorium from 7 pm to 8 p.m. while their contest is Friday, at Independence High School at 5 p.m.
“It’s made me think deeper about the whole process of acting,” sophomore Kyron France said. “Just getting a character and coming up with all the research on it, and then actually performing that character, and then also seeing the behind the scenes and the technical world as well, seeing how it all forms together.”
The competition process allows them 40 minutes to perform their show, and seven minutes before and after their performance to set up and take down their set.
“This is my first One Act play that I’ve ever been a part of, so it’s just a huge learning curve,” sophomore Vivi Goyanka said. “It’s a lot different than mainstage shows because usually tech and actors don’t really work together and you come together during tech week but this entire process we’ve been working with the actors and catering to how they are onstage so we’re really just together from the beginning.”
