Earning their third consecutive victory in District 11-5A play, the softball team (3-1) run-ruled Heritage (0-4) behind a season-high score of 14-0 at The Nest Tuesday.
“We did a great job of being patient and waiting for a good pitch to hit,” head coach Randi Hamilton said. “The girls did a great job of staying focused and coming out ready to play despite the early start. We had to adjust because of the weather, but we still had a good turn out of our future Redhawks.”
With a flock of potential Redhawks on hand for the team’s Rising Redhawk Night, the offense was clicking on all cylinders, recording a .667 OBP and .375 batting average.
“It was very engaging and fast-paced trying to keep up with them,” catcher, freshman Alaina Evans said. “We did a good job of falling back on our teamwork.”
