After advancing to the second round of the playoffs for the first time in five years, it’s on to the next test for the boys’ soccer team. The Redhawks will face Jacksonville 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mabank High School.
“We didn’t play them this season, so we don’t know what they look like,” assistant coach Kyle Parks. “The key thing is just making sure we play our game, to force them into playing our game and not get overwhelmed into playing theirs.”
Senior striker/center midfielder Joey Medieceja, a St. Edward’s University signee, said the team will need to play at its best throughout the game, but especially at the beginning.
“Our main focus is to be strong in the first ten minutes because when we get scored on, it’s usually in the first ten minutes,” Mediaceja said. “Then you know coming back from behind is always hard, so we want to avoid digging a hole.”
