Testing season has officially started at The Nest with the first of a series of state-mandated EOCs beginning on Wednesday.
Freshmen and sophomores who are testing must arrive at school and be present in time for the test to start at 9 a.m., while juniors and seniors who are not testing will have a late arrival time of 12:15.
“I guess the good thing about late arrival is I get to sleep in,” senior Vasantha Krishna Perneti said. “I didn’t actually have a late arrival this semester, so sleeping in until like 10:30 seems pretty nice.”
It’s a different story for students that have to take either the English I or English II EOC with many students preparing for weeks in anticipation of Wednesday’s tests.
“So, for the STAAR test, I’m kind of nervous,” freshman Varad Thamke said. “But I think I’ll probably catch up with the materials and stuff. But, in class we’re trying to cover up the whole thing. Right now, like the quarter has started and the teacher’s trying to cover up the materials and prepare everyone for the STAAR.”
