Looking to recover from the two losses against Memorial, the baseball team travels to Emerson to face the Mavericks Tuesday at 7:30 p.m..
These next two games against Emerson are especially important for the Redhawks, as they can secure or lose their fourth place spot in the District 11-5A standings, the final playoff spot.
“We know who we are at this point in the year, and how we have won games,” assistant coach Ryan Houston said. “We need to get back to how we score runs and focus on playing two games this week the way we are capable of doing. Our pitchers need to continue to locate and keep their guys off the bases. Emerson will be a good series for us, and we know what’s on the line. I have faith in our guys to be prepared and play to our potential.”
The team will go into the upcoming game without dwelling on previous losses according to junior Carson Higgs.
“The team really just wants to forget about last week completely,” Higgs said. “Just have a much better week this week and come out with two really important wins.”
