The National Honor Society is officially opening its arms to its newest members on Monday. Sophomores and juniors accepted to NHS will be inducted Monday evening at the organization’s annual induction ceremony.
For new NHS members, there’s quite a few reasons to join the organization.
“It’s a great way to get service hours,” sophomore Grace Garrison said. “You get to meet new people and it looks good on your college resumes. I’m really excited to get opportunities to volunteer and make new friendships. and become a better leader at our school.”
Sophomore Danantra Widjaja echoes many of the same reasons and feels that NHS can prove to be a powerful community-building experience.
“I believe it will be an opportunity to meet new people and get more volunteer opportunities,” Widjaja said. “I hope to gain collaboration skills and of course volunteer hours and I hope to also get a general sense of what the community really is.”
The induction ceremony will be held in the auditorium at 6 p.m.
