Red Rhythm had its spring show a few days ago, now the rest of the Redhawks dance program will be displaying their skills and talents at the annual Spring Showcase Wednesday April 29th, from 5-7 p.m. in the auditorium.
“The Dance Showcase is an opportunity for dance Students in levels 1-4 to showcase their choreography in the auditorium,” dance teacher Nicole Nothe said. “It is important because it gives the students an opportunity to create movement and perform it for family and friends.”
Learning various styles of dance throughout the year ranging from hip-hop to modern, students are showcasing their dance skills and original choreography.
“I’m excited because I believe it’s a great opportunity to show off the skills that we’ve learned this year,” freshman Neha Bannur said. “Well it is a very funny experience, it’s also a pressure-filled project with having to make up everything yourself.”
Although the project is a challenge for many students, it’s a personal experience for freshman Navaeh Harris.
“I’m doing this dance for my brother because when I’m at my lowest, he is the one that is, usually, there to cheer me up,” Harris said. “I think this dance is very thoughtful and inspirational, as I have such a deep meaning behind it. For the dance, I am nervous, but also excited because I can’t wait to show everyone how much my brother truly means to me.”
