First came team tryouts.
Then it was officer elections.
And now, Red Rhythm is ready for next year.
Each year, members of the Red Rhythm team go through an extensive selection process to earn leadership positions, showing their skills, creativity, and commitment.
“So the process for the new officers each year is actually quite extensive,” Red Rhythm Assistant Director Sydney Mooty said. “The social officers make a presentation where they show game ideas, t-shirt designs, team bonding, and team gifts, and they also have an interview and a dance portion. The dance officers go through an interview, learn a dance, perform a solo, and answer questions in an extensive interview. I’m always excited to watch them step into a leadership role and bring their own creativity into the team”
Students say the process pushes them to grow both as performers and leaders.
“We do a three-minute speech, learn a choreographed dance, perform our strut, and go through a panel interview,” junior Brooklyn Fairchild said. “We also teach and choreograph our own solo. I’m really excited about our new team environment and building a really great team bond.”
For many, the experience provides a foundation for future leadership on the team.
“This past season, I served as communications lead, which helped me learn what it takes to become president,” junior Neta Even said. “You create a presentation and go through a panel interview, showing your strengths and weaknesses. I’m really excited to be president this year and to lead such a welcoming team.”
