Frisco ISD is hosting Find Your Future Night for Texas schools. The event is Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Panther Creek High School.

Juniors and seniors are going to be able to visit with representatives from more than 60 colleges and universities at Thursday’s Find your Future: Texas Colleges Night from 6-8 p.m. at Panther Creek High School.

“One of the goals is to bring awareness of post-secondary education, whether it would be college or trade or community college or whatever the case may be,” M-R counselor Angela Lewis said. “It’s just an opportunity for us to bring resources into the school from the district and allow students to understand what is available.”

Having dozens of college representatives in the same place at the same time makes for something of a one-stop shop for prospective college applicants.

“I think this event is beneficial for students going to college,” junior Natalia Azizi said. “They can educate themselves on the colleges and gain knowledge and information about what kind of school they’re going to apply [to].”

For senior Yuktha Perneti, this event may help her as she goes through the college admissions process.

“I feel like I’ll have some more clarity and guidance for the Texas schools I’m applying to,” Perneti said.

Brooke Colombo, Editor-in-chief
Brooke Colombo is Editor-in-Chief of Wingspan, and has been involved in journalism since her freshman year. It’s been a year now, and present Brooke still isn’t 100 percent sure of what she’s doing with her life. In addition to Wingspan, Brooke is involved in the school’s varsity choir, and especially enjoys singing a good ol’  jazz tune. In her spare time, Brooke enjoys indulging in obsessive tendencies, subjecting her friends to astrological analysis of their personalities (she’s a Libra, by the way), “enlightening” her mind and body with a solid yoga practice, and sitting in her bed watching educational YouTube videos on loop. While she thinks she’s more than ready to be out of high school, Brooke is planning on making her last year as fulfilling as possible. Contact Brooke at: Brooke.Colombo.184@k12.friscoisd.org
