Students in Spanish class are finishing off their year with an EOY project in which students are instructed to make a slideshow presentation about their research on a Spanish-speaking country that will be presented May 5-6.
“I feel like they’re able to transfer that knowledge that they’re gaining through this presentation in real life scenarios,” Spanish teacher Yuridiana Franco said. “In regards to presentation skills, it also gives students the opportunity to learn the skills of being more comfortable and confident in presenting and providing information and elaboration and transferring it to places like college settings.”
The project includes school programs that are available in the Spanish-speaking countries that the students picked. As they research which program they want to research and present, it can provide a chance to look and see what kind of programs they might be interested in taking in the future.
“I think it’s important because the programs themselves that we’re talking about are great opportunities for a lot of students,” freshman Gauri Pillai said. “Doing this presentation is a great way to discuss a lot of beneficial opportunities for students that are provided for this school.”
