With the passage of HB 1481 and the prohibition on the use of personal communication devices during the school day on school property, Redhawks are strongly encouraged to opt-in to the Frisco Independent School District 1-For-All program.
Through the 1-For-All Program, students are issued a touchscreen Chromebook and charger by the school district to use during the school day, in compliance with the new ban on personal devices.
To opt-in to the program, students must complete two key steps:
First, students must pay a one-time $20 non-refundable fee on Online School Fees. This fee covers basic maintenance for chromebooks and charges, including normal wear and tear of the devices. Additionally, parents or guardians must complete the 1-For-All Guardian Acknowledgement, after reading through the 1-For-All Handbook.
After payment of the $20 and the completion of the guardian acknowledgement, students must complete the Frisco ISD 1-for-All High School Student Canvas course. Approximately 20 minutes long with three assessments, this course covers basic device maintenance, responsible digital citizenship, and appropriate device usage and can be accessed through students’ Canvas accounts.
Upon completion of all these steps, students are eligible to pick up their chromebooks from C131 before school from 8:30-9 a.m. or during advisory, starting from Wednesday.
