Although school has just started, Redhawks across campus are already getting ready to dress to the nines for school pictures Thursday and Friday during English classes in the auditorium foyer.
In addition to being used for student rosters and other official recordkeeping, school pictures of students also play an instrumental role in laying the foundation for the school yearbook.
“School pictures help yearbook because…we need them to put in the portrait section, so each person has a picture with their name,” yearbook teacher Andrew Lamas said. “It also just allows for us to be able to fill out that part of the book.”
For students, despite the awkwardness of school pictures, there’s still something special in seeing yourself in the yearbook.
“They’re kind of awkward,” senior Trisha Agarwal said. “It’s the way they have you pose; it’s just a little bit stiff. But, I think it’s really cool that you get your own picture in the yearbook. My mom always makes me dress up.”
