GPA opt-out is an opportunity for juniors and seniors to be able to opt out of their grades who have been in certain electives more than 2 years, such as theatre, band, dance, cheer, choir, colorguard and any of the athletic programs.
This gpa opt-out option is for students who have a weighted gpa of 5.0 or higher.
“It just encourages students who might consider dropping out of programs because even a hundred in that class could potentially hurt your GPA,” counselor Lanae Rainey. “So this allows you to opt out so it would not hurt your GPA and you get to stay in these wonderful programs through your 11th and 10th grade years.”
Students who meet the qualifications for a GPA opt-out will be notified by email.
