The tennis team faces Emerson in the last District 11-5A game on Tuesday at The Nest, hoping to turn things around from their previous losses.
“I think Emerson is a little bit stronger than [Independence] since they beat Memorial, so we have to play really well to beat them,” head coach William Davis said. “I’m just hoping we can have a competitive match with them”
For sophomore Sophia Shaikh, staying positive is key to performing well in this match.
“Since it’s the last match of the fall season, I want to stay positive and compete hard from start to finish,” Shaikh said. “I’m going to stay calm and adjust my game when I need to.”
