The Christmas season has yet to come, but medical terminology classes have been using an iconic winter sweet treat to add a little holiday flair into their learning.
The gingerbread man project that was designed to help students learn and navigate through the various parts of the human body.
Students who choose to chase a medical profession later in life oftentimes take medical terminology first. This project helps demonstrate the things they need to know.
“I joined this class cause’ I wanted to become a part of the medical field. My dream job as of right now is to be a physical therapist, so this is a very important class for that.” freshman, Senan Whitty said, “The best part of the gingerbread activity we had was probably learning about the cavities because it was kinda weird to know, and when we went through it and demonstrated it was more clear to me.”
During the project, students were required to draw out human anatomy and label major bodily cavities.
Freshman, Anwita Gullipali said, “The biggest takeaway from this project is probably mostly where your organs are located and the places where your cavities are, and just knowing where your important organs are can help you a lot.”
This holiday special project has proved helpful for medical terminology students.
