Hoping to get its students in the Halloween and fall spirit, orchestra’s Falloween social is on Friday from 5-7 p.m. in the orchestra room.
“I think it’s good for students to form a group of people that are within your community—a group of friends,” orchestra director Julie Blackstock said.
Students are encouraged to dress up in Halloween costumes to contribute to the Halloween vibes of the social.
“I plan on dressing up if I can,” freshman Derek Mannis said. “If I do dress up, then I’d cosplay as The Black Silence from Library of Ruina.”
For junior VP Allison Truong, dressing up is something she looks forward to as a part of the Presidential officer team.
“All the officer subteams are dressing up!” Truong said. “The president subteam is going as Inside Out characters, although I haven’t decided which character I want to dress up as yet.”
In years past, the gym was reserved for the Falloween social. However, since there is a volleyball game the same night as the social, students will be outside playing a volleyball tournament.
“I’m most excited for the volleyball tournament!” Truong said.
If students don’t want to join the volleyball tournament, there are other activities available.
“I enjoy the crafty aspects of the socials—making friendship bracelets or painting pumpkins,” Blackstock said.
No matter the reason for attending, the social will be a chance to meet new people in different orchestras and create new friendships.
“Attending any of our socials is a great time to socialize with friends in other orchestras,” Truong said. “The tight-knit community we have is one of my favorite parts of the orchestra program at Liberty!”
