While Independence (13-13, 5-7) may have chopped off the Redhawk volleyball team’s (29-4, 11-1) wings en route to a 3-2 upset back in September, the team made sure that it didn’t happen again the next time they met on the court. They swept the Knights 3-0 and outscored them 75-55 in front of a home crowd Friday, honoring their five seniors before the match.
“We did a really good job preparing for the game and executed our goals well,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We were super smart offensively and defensively we did a great job making adjustments.”
However, not everything was about the match.
“It was a special night because we got to celebrate each of our seniors before the game started,” Dobbins said.
One of those seniors, setter, Princeton commit Allison Tredwell, said that one of her final matches in a Redhawks uniform reminded her just how far the team has come.
“We’ve cleaned up a lot of our little mistakes,” Tredwell said. “That has allowed us to have a really successful season.”
