Students in one class on campus aren’t just learning, they are doing, by taking the reins of what it means to start a true business.
In Survey of Business and Finance classes, students are watching their classroom concepts turn into real business creations.
“My project is an alarm blanket, and I think the shark tank project is really beneficial to what we are doing because it gives us a real life model of how business works,” freshman Ahad Virani said. “And we have to do a lot of estimates about demographics and typographics which helps us analyze markets.”
Many students find this project as a new opportunity to learn new business and marketing skills for the future, including sophomore Rohan Advani.
“I think the business model project is really beneficial,” Advani said. “It really helps students have an understanding about how businesses are set up, what goes into starting a business and all the key components you need and also gives student the foundation of working together as as a team so I think this business model project is very beneficial.”
