After Heritage (21-13, 10-2) stopped their 3-game winning streak, the girls basketball team (11-18, 6-6) got back on track by picking up a 38-29 senior night win against Independence (12-13, 4-8) at The Nest Tuesday.
“We kind of worked together on the pressure this game,” head coach Mykaela Alfred said. “And if we couldn’t score against pressure, it was, get into offense on the half court.”
According to junior Danivea Hughes, reflecting on the game against Heritage helped the team perform better at the game against Independence.
“We analyzed that we were getting back cut a lot more,” Hughes said. “So [against Independence] we made sure we didn’t get lost with defense.”
