Starting Friday, freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will have one final opportunity to review their course selections for next school year during the counseling department’s final schedule change request window, which runs through Feb. 12. After this period ends, only course corrections, not full schedule changes, will be allowed.
For many students, this final window offers a chance to rethink earlier decisions. Sophomore Gowtham Modina, for instance, wants to participate in the Collin EDGE Program, a dual credit program offered by Frisco ISD to complete the entire 44-hour Texas Core Curriculum before high school graduation.
“I am changing my schedule so I can take dual credit classes through the new Collin EDGE program,” Modina said. “I joined the webinar with my parents a few months ago, and it seems like a program that would be really good for me.”
In an email sent on Wednesday at 4:35 p.m., counselors outlined the following as steps students must take to request a schedule change and things to keep in mind:
To request a change, students must review their course requests through and submit a form through this Course Change Request link available on the Counselors Corner website. If students have not already done so, they should include two alternate courses and use the additional comments section to communicate any notes or concerns.
While the request window allows for adjustments, completion of this request does not guarantee that the course request change will be made due to credits earned, prerequisites, testing requirements, and course availability.
All approved changes will be updated in Home Access Center (HAC ) by Feb. 20, and students will be able to view their preliminary schedules in August.
