After being pushed back not once, but twice, all of fine arts is hosting the annual Multicultural Potluck Friday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the cafeteria with students from all the fine arts invited to dress up in cultural clothing, bring food, and join the festivities.
“Since this is a potluck, we’ll mainly just be eating!” junior Allison Troung said. “Although students aren’t required to bring dishes, they are incentivized to do so through volunteer hours. We’ve also asked students to bring any cultural games/toys if they are able to.”
The event will be from 5:30-7:30 and as in previous years, the event is going to be hosted in the cafeteria. This provides students plenty of space to enjoy their time.
The Multicultural Potluck is a chance for sophomore Sophia Essa to explore other cultures.
“I’m most excited about getting to see everyone bring the dishes that they love, and express their cultural heritage!” sophomore Sophia Essa said. “I love learning about other cultures, so the Multicultural Potluck is definitely one of my favorite socials.”
For Troung, Friday’s potluck is a chance to show off parts of her culture.
“I’m Vietnamese, so I’ll be bringing a Vietnamese dish and wearing an áo dài, which is a traditional Vietnamese dress,” Troung said.
With many socials limited to single organizations, Friday’s event allows students from all the fine arts to hangout with friends.
“I personally prefer the socials with kids from all the fine arts programs,” senior Trisha Agarwal said. “I can hang out with friends that are in programs other than Orchestra and it means that more people will show up to the social.”
