After their first loss of the season, the boys’ soccer team (11-1-4) looks to regroup and rebound in a road match against Emerson (14-1-1) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Meanwhile, the girls (2-9-1) will host the Mavericks (4-5-4, 1-2-2) at The Nest at 5:30 p.m in the hopes of extending a two-game undefeated streak.
Sophomore attacking midfielder McKenzie Gore said that team has put their early-season struggles behind them.
“I want to keep improving and see how far we can go,” Gore said. “As long as we can stay confident and stay healthy, we should be able to win.”
Boys’ assistant coach Kyle Parks said the key to getting back on track against a tough opponent like Emerson is not playing their competitor’s game.
“We’re going to try to play to our strengths,” Parks said. “We’re going to try to play our own gameplay to our strengths and defend as a full team.”
