Both soccer teams (boys 7-2-2, #24 in state; girls 2-8-2) will look to extend their winning streaks when they take on Memorial (boys 7-3-2; girls 5-4-3) Tuesday.

 However, it’s not just their opponent on the pitch that the Redhawks will be facing, as the threat of inclement weather has forced one of the games to be moved up from its originally scheduled times. The girls will host the Warriors at The Nest at 4:30 p.m., while the boys remain scheduled to play Memorial on the road at 7:00 p.m. 

While acknowledging that weather conditions will be an important aspect of the game, boys’ assistant coach Kyle Parks said that his team is more focused on avenging a loss from earlier in the season.

“The weather is definitely gonna be unpredictable, and it’s gonna be windy,” Parks said. “Hopefully we don’t get any lightning delays, but the nasty stuff’s not supposed to hit until around 10 p.m. So we can focus on crossing and the long throw-in balls.”

On the girls’ side of things, senior outside back Caitlyn Ruback has some individual goals that she believes will be beneficial for her entire team.

“I have to stay positive no matter what, make sure I’m always working my hardest, and improve on ball handling under pressure,” Ruback said. “These goals will help not only me but my team to stay focused and win.”
