Taking time out of their four-day weekend, the softball team (6-3) will host District 11-5A rival Centennial (5-4) at The Nest Friday at 11:00 a.m. for this season’s second edition of the “Rivalry on Rolater”.
Since the Redhawks won the first game of the series by a score of 9-1 in March, head coach Randi Hamilton is confident that her team can pull off another victory.
“We will need to come in ready to hit the ball [and] need to be able to respond anytime they have the big hit or run,” Hamilton said. “We are going to just attack them.”
Hamilton said this game will look a little different in terms of execution compared to the last one, because the Titans’ starting lineup has undergone some defensive changes.
“We will be throwing a different pitcher against them this time, so it will be a little bit of a different game plan than we approached with last time,” Hamilton said. “Our biggest game plan is to throw strikes and make them put the ball in play so our defense can do their job.”
Freshman utility player Braedyn Glidwell explains what that will look like specifically for her.
“I’m mostly playing in the outfield,” Glidwell said. “I contribute by catching the ball to get outs.”
