Open to all seniors and their families, the annual senior baccalaureate ceremony is Sunday at Preston Trail Community Church.
“[I’m attending] because it’s a great way to celebrate our accomplishments as seniors as well as getting closer to God to help guide us on our future journey, and also get to celebrate with our families,” senior Abraham La Rosa Ortega said. “I just think it’s a very wonderful way to all get together and hang out.”
Included in the event is a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a prayer over students’ future and a slideshow highlighting each senior that filled out their form by April 21. Additionally, attendees will be provided treats and desserts.
“It recognizes the hard work we put in to get to where we are, as well as, it’s a way to be able to do something special for the seniors in their last year as high schoolers,” La Rosa Ortega said.
