Hundreds of books have been checked out from the school library this year, and now any that are still out need to be returned.
Monday is the final deadline for students to turn in all library books. As the school year wraps up, library staff are reminding students of the various options for returning materials.
“So if the library is closed for testing or an activity, we have the red book drop outside of the double doors of the library there’s also one in the cafeteria, we check them between every class period, and if we are open you are more than welcome to still use those or you are more than welcome to come in and check in here with me,” librarian Chelsea Hamilton said.
While the deadline may feel early to some students, library staff say it is necessary in order to stay organized before the end of the year. Collecting books in advance allows them to assess inventory and prepare for the upcoming school year.
“It is important so that we can take not of our inventory and start preparing for the next school year,” senior library aide Noah Gordon said.
Students are encouraged to return any remaining books as soon as possible to avoid last-minute issues and help the library stay on track.
