WTV's Kathryn Murphy brings you today's news and announcements including early voting ending, closed advisory, and this week's edition of trivia.

Students bring the spirit for homecoming pep rally

It’s time for the 2023 Homecoming game as the Redhawks play host to Reedy Thursday at the Ford Center. To help kick off festivities, the homecoming pep rally is in advisory Thursday.

It’s homecoming season, and with that comes a lot of activities and events with one of those being the homecoming pep rally on Thursday during advisory.

Taking place in the main gym, the pep rally will feature fine arts, and athletics teams with StuCo ready to lead the way, and the homecoming court being revealed.
“We’re just really excited to award our homecoming courts,” StuCo president, senior Haley Ward said. “So basically the freshman sophomores juniors seniors all of them will be crowned and it’s going to be a lot of fun and there will be a lot of performances.”

One of those performances will showcase the cheerleaders in a way that’s never seen on the sideline.

“I’m excited for two different things: one the cheer squad has been working on a big performance,” StuCo sponsor Kandy Stevens said. “So that will be the combination of work that they’ve been doing since August and then I’m also excited about the presentation of the homecoming court.”
