Sarayu Bongale
Managing Editor Sarayu Bongale sits down with junior Tanushri Talla to talk about her art journey.

Name: Tanushri Talla

Grade: junior

Years of experience: 11 years

Wingspan: What inspired you to start getting involved in art?

Talla: “My parents put me into art classes when I was little and I kept my interests going starting from there. As I started  doing competitions, I realized I was actually good and I became more and more consistent.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite aspect of art?

Talla: “The fact that I can draw anything I want. It’s just a creative way to let my steam out.”

Wingspan: What are some challenges you may face in art?

Talla: “Probably just getting over the fact I produce a bad piece. You just have to get past that and keep thinking and keep getting creative.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite piece you’ve drawn?

Talla: “My favorite rice is probably my first competition piece. It was black and white and based off of my experience during COVID-19. It was the first time I won a competition so I was really excited about it.”

Wingspan: Where do you get your inspiration from?

Talla: “My inspiration comes from Instagram artists such as Owen Rival. He’s really cool.”

Wingspan: What is your favorite medium of art? Why?

Talla: “My favorite medium is probably chalk pastel because I’m better at it.”

Wingspan: Would you pursue art professionally in the future? Why or why not?

Talla: “I don’t think I’d pursue it professionally. Maybe as a side  option but not as my main career because there is already something I want to focus on and art isn’t always the most reliable career choice.”
