Name: Kaitlyn Synatschk
Grade: 12th
Fine art: drill team
Years of experience: two
Wingspan: What is your favorite part about being on Red Rhythm?
Synatschk: “My favorite part of Red Rhythm is truly the people! Everyone is so nice and hard working and the directors are so hard working and helpful!”
Wingspan: What are some challenges you face while being in Red Rhythm?
Synatschk: “Red Rhythm is very fun and rewarding, but challenging at the same time. Learning multiple routines at once is really hard. I’m in 8 routines in the Spring Show and that’s challenging as is, I can only imagine the stress that officers with more routines are in.”
Wingspan: What made you join Red Rhythm?
Synatschk: “I tried out for Red Rhythm because of the environment and my love for dance. I needed a positive environment and they facilitated that and more! I also love how we all share a passion for dance.”
Wingspan: What keeps you motivated throughout your competition season?
Synatschk: “Doing it for my friends and not just myself keeps me motivated. Obviously I want to do well for myself too, but our team is so close knit and we’ve worked so hard to be where we’re at, so I want to make sure I am doing my part to help us achieve our goals!”
Wingspan: What has been your proudest moment in Red Rhythm?
Synatschk: “I don’t necessarily have a proudest moment, but I am proud of my growth as a dancer. Prior to drill team I was a soccer player my whole life and had only taken a couple of dance classes here at Liberty.”
Wingspan: What advice would you give to someone thinking of joining?
Synatschk: “I would definitely recommend trying out if it’s on your mind. The environment is great and it’s just a fun group of girls. I’d definitely say to practice any skills needed for tryouts, but you will learn so much more once you make the team!”
Wingspan: What was your favorite/most memorable performance?
Synatschk: “My favorite performance for football season was the kickline because I love kicking! For contest season I loved performing our pom routine because it was so up-beat, fun, and challenging – I’m excited to see what my favorite dance for Spring Show will be, but I think it will be the last dance because it will be my last ever time in uniform on stage with my best friends!”
