Golf competed in the Farmer Fall Fest on Tuesday, but due to rain the competition was cut short. Even though only getting to play nine holes, the boys’ team finished in second

The golf team headed to Indian Creek Golf Course to compete in the Farmer Fall Fest on Tuesday, but their time on the green was cut short on account of weather.

“Both teams played very well given the weather,” coach Shannon Glidwell said. “The kids battled spotty rain and wind all day, and the course became muddier as the rain progressed, which made golf tough!”

Due to the rain, both girls’ and boys’ teams only played nine holes with the boys’ team finishing second. Girls did not have a team score, since they only had three players in the tournament, but junior Abigail Lee placed in the top five individually.

“I feel proud of the effort and preparation I put into this tournament, but I’m quite disappointed that my performance was cut short due to the bad weather,” Lee said. “I definitely need to work on refining my putting skills and additionally building on my course management skills for the future.”
